BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE QUARANTINE DREAMS COLLECTION
I’m having so much fun, putting this collection together. If you know me you know I really appreciate craftsmanship and attention to details. Although a lot of time and work goes into researching and sorting through these elements, I been enjoying every minute :) Today I’d like to share with you a little sneak peek behind the scenes of the Quarantine Dreams collection and the process as it comes together.
Digitizing Artwork
To start I’ve spent some time digitizing all the original artworks, carefully ensuring that all details are captured.
Color Correcting and Printing
Once that's complete, the process of color correcting begins to ensure the colors print true to the original. I’ve invested in a professional printer that uses high quality pigment archival inks that are said to last up to 200 years!
Here’s the many revisions of color correcting…
Final Prints & Paper
I’ve researched and sourced different kinds of materials and archival high quality paper. I’ve settled on a bright white Fine Art smooth matte paper. It truly captures every detail. Here’s one of the final prints. I’m so happy with how they are coming out, every detail of the watercolor pigment is there including the watercolor paper texture!
Here’s another example, for this photo I’ve printed the artwork on the left on plain copy paper and on the right using the Fine Art Paper ( using the archival inks on both) . The difference is amazing! The Fine art paper truly captures dimension beautifully, and mimics the original.
Designing packaging label
Now to one of my favorite parts ( besides painting of course :) ). I love creating and designing packaging and brand aesthetics. I’m guilty of buying things just for their beautiful packaging. My desire is to not only bring you a high quality art print but to also create a personable experience. That when you receive the art it makes you feel just as special as you are! :)
Researching and Sourcing Shipping Materials
I’ve also sourced high quality shipping and packaging materials to make sure that your prints arrive safely to you! I was patiently waiting for these items to arrive and once they did, it was Christmas all over again!
Items will be shipped in these rigid mailers, including a chipboard backing to prevent any bending or damage through shipment.
And here’s a framed final print. I love the minimal and simplicity it evokes.
Can’t wait to share the whole collection with you very soon! I will show you the stickers next! I been designing and working on those and I’m so excited to share them with you.
Thank you so much for taking a look and as always your support means the world to me.
